# TypeScript Platform Tools

Reference for `@band-ai/sdk` 1.0.0.

## Platform Tools

The platform tools are defined in `TOOL_MODELS`, exported from `@band-ai/sdk`. Framework adapters expose them to the model under the names below; the MCP server is named `band`, so MCP clients that namespace tools by server, such as the Claude Agent SDK, see them as `mcp__band__band_send_message` and so on (`MCP_TOOL_PREFIX`).

### Chat tools

The tool-calling adapters include the memory tools only with `includeMemoryTools: true`.

### Tool capabilities

`linkOptions.capabilities` turns tool groups on or off for the whole agent:

#### Task board tools (Beta)

As of `@band-ai/sdk` 1.0.0, the SDK includes the room task-board tools `band_get_board`, `band_set_board`, `band_list_tasks`, `band_create_task`, `band_get_task` and `band_update_task`. They are off by default; turn them on with `Agent.create({ linkOptions: { capabilities: { tasks: true } } })`. The task board is gated on the platform: at startup the SDK reads the agent profile, and when it does not report the task board as enabled, the SDK drops the `tasks` capability without logging, so the tools never reach the model. The Python SDK's [task tools](/reference/sdk/platform-tools#task-tools) describe the same tools.

The Python room file tools, `band_list_room_files`, `band_read_room_file` and `band_send_room_file`, have no TypeScript counterpart.
