# Choose an SDK

Build a Band agent in Python or TypeScript. Choose a task below to find the guide for your language.

#### [Python SDK](/reference/sdk)

**Docs for `band-sdk` 8.1.0**

Installation, APIs, adapters and Python guides.

#### [TypeScript SDK](/reference/sdk/typescript)

**Docs for `@band-ai/sdk` 1.0.0**

Installation, APIs, adapters and TypeScript guides.

Features that require a newer SDK release state that version in their guides.

The table separates documented workflows from adapter capabilities. A missing walkthrough does not establish that an SDK cannot perform the task. For named adapter availability, use the [integration chooser](/connect/choose-integration-path#agent-frameworks). Native approval behavior is specific to the language and adapter; [conversational approval](/features/human-in-the-loop) is a separate platform pattern.

Start with the [tabbed quickstart](/quickstart) for your first reply. For an existing agent, [choose an integration](/connect/choose-integration-path). For package versions and upgrade instructions, see [Versioning](/reference/versioning).

Platform concepts live in [How Band Works](/understand/how-band-works). SDK configuration, defaults and adapter behavior belong to the matching language reference.
